Mile times improve dramatically for XC team

Mar Lee competed in the Parkside Middle School cross-country meet at Ella Sharp Park, September 26. The meet was very well attended with approximately 10 schools running in the 5^th/6^th grade race and 10 schools running in the 7^th/8^th boys and girls races.

Mar Lee’s 5^th and 6^th graders ran the 1.5mile race together. The boys were competing in their second race of the season while the girls ran their first race. Mile times were improved across the board for the boys, in some cases by a minute. We will have to wait and see in the next race for the girls’ display of improvement.

Terek Straham took 7^th place for the boys.

Jordan Yahsha took 14^th place for the boys.

Mar Lee’s 7^th and 8^th grade boys ran a 2mile race and also showed mile time improvement. All runners are looking forward to the next meet this Saturday at Bellevue.

7th grade Volleyball teams wins first place at tournament.

The 7th and 8th grade teams competed on Saturday at the St. Phil tournament.  The 7th grade won first place. 

8th grade wins Harper Creek tournament

The 8th grade volleyball team won the Harper Creek tournament on saturday taking a gold medal in the gold bracket.

7th grade volleyball team placed 2nd in the Bearcat Invitational on Saturday taking a silver medal in the gold bracket.  Congratulations to Bronson for winning the Bearcat Invitational.

Homer Meet 9/8/12

The Mar Lee 2012 cross-country team had their first meet September 8th at the Homer Invitational. There were at least eight schools participating in the meet including Pittsford, Tekonsha, Reading, Bellevue, Springport, Madison, Litchfield and Homer. Mar Lee placed 3rd overall with Terek Straham taking 7th, Jordan Yahsha taking 8th and Zach Mills, Willie Couch and Bradley Burbaker coming in 16th, 17th, and 18th respectively. Congratulations to the team. The next meet will be September 26th at Ella Sharp Park hosted by Park Side Junior High.

Mar Lee takes first place out of 9 teams in Homer XC meet

The Mar Lee boys cross country team captured its first ever first-place team finish in a meet in Homer on September 10th. Nine teams competed from as far away as St. Joseph, MI.

The cool rainy weather was exactly what the Bearcats wanted, and they moved away fast through the 1.5 mile course to capture 2nd place (Joe MacInnes @ 9:37), 4th place (Ben Turner @ 9:48), 15th (Dontay Pearl @ 11:14.7), 16th (Bobby Owens @ 11:15), 22nd (Austin Teal @ 11:37), 29th (Nathan Karaba @ 13:03), and 38th (Josh Isham @ 15:40).

Coming in first for the girls team was Maggie Dunn (20th place @ 13.36), followed by Katie Zona (28th place @ 15:50). Photos from the meet and a short movie can be found at https://www.me.com/gallery/#100008.

Blue and White Teams Battle for 3rd Place

The Mar Lee 7/8 grade teams took 3rd and 4th place at the 1st Annual Bearcat Invitational held on January 23rd.
Six teams participated including Paragon, Trinity, Marshall and Pansophia.
